1.1 Permissions Explanation​

To enable speech recognition features, DuRT requires the following permissions:

  • Screen Recording Permission: Used to convert device audio into text in real time.
  • Microphone Permission: Used to convert microphone audio into text in real time.

1.2 Information Collection, Usage, and Storage​

DuRT adopts privacy-first design principles to ensure data security. Specific details are as follows:

  1. Local Speech Recognition DuRT offers two local large model-based speech recognition methods that can convert speech to text without internet connectivity. These methods do not collect, store, or upload user audio data or other private information.

  2. Apple Speech Recognition Service If users choose Apple's speech recognition service, the app may upload audio data (e.g., device audio or microphone audio) to Apple's servers via encrypted transmission for processing. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details.

  3. Non-Audio Data Processing Except for the audio data described above, DuRT does not collect, store, or use any other user data, including but not limited to:

  • Video data
  • Device information
  • User activity logs

Text Processing Services In DuRT, users can configure large language model API interfaces to enable features such as translation, polishing, dialogue, and summarization of speech recognition results. In these scenarios, recognition results will be transmitted to the user-configured API service. The API service provider may collect the transmitted text data.

2. Data Security​

DuRT itself does not store any user data, eliminating risks of storage-related data breaches. We ensure security through:

  • Processing most speech recognition tasks locally to prevent data leaks.
  • Encrypting network-transmitted audio data (limited to Apple services) to ensure security.

You can use this application with confidence—your privacy security is our top priority.
