Local Folder & NAS Share Integration

For creators processing heavy 4K video files, enterprise users with strict local-first data privacy policies, or studios with high-speed local NAS infrastructure (Synology, QNAP, TrueNAS), DuRT 3.0 provides the Local Folder / Mounted NAS destination integration.

Without sending data over the internet, workflow outputs write directly to your target storage via the high-performance macOS APFS/SMB file system.

Key Use Cases

  1. Local Network NAS Shares (SMB / NFS):
    • Mount your team NAS share in macOS Finder (e.g., /Volumes/Studio_NAS/Projects/). Once DuRT finishes ASR transcription and video rendering, deliverables are instantly accessible to all video editors.
  2. External High-Speed SSD Archiving:
    • Save internal Mac SSD storage by targeting an external Thunderbolt/USB4 SSD (e.g., /Volumes/Extreme_SSD/DuRT_Archives/).
  3. Cloud Sync Client Folders:
    • Point to local sync directories for iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive to let native clients handle background sync.

Configuration Guide

In DuRT, navigate to Settings ➔ Integrations & Storage, click Add Integration Destination, and select NAS / Local Folder:

  1. Target Directory:
    • Click "Browse Folder..." and select or create your destination folder in the native macOS Finder panel.
    • Note: DuRT utilizes macOS Security-Scoped Bookmarks to securely retain sandboxed read/write permissions across app restarts.
  2. Directory Structure:
    • Files are organized automatically: {YYYY-MM-DD}/{task_name}/..., ensuring clean, scalable project management.

Advantages

  • ⚡️ Blazing-Fast Throughput: Zero network overhead, achieving hundreds of MB/s over USB4/Thunderbolt or 10GbE local networks.
  • 🛡️ 100% Offline & Private: Zero cloud dependency, keeping all sensitive recordings and transcripts strictly on-premise.

Crafted with precision for macOS.
